At its core, the origin story of Lila N’ Berry has always been about the future of our kids. What kind of a world are we leaving them? When you think about it, the answer may be overwhelming. But as Emily Dickinson poetically points out, “One step at a time is all it takes to get you there.”
In this spirit, we asked ourselves what we can do to reduce our carbon print as a company and see what we can do to fight against climate change. Responsible design was key. In our environmentally friendly production, we made sure to use only natural fibers and less carbon print. Our products as well as our dying process is certified with the OEKO-TEX trademark.
Yet, we thought we could do more. We knew that “a crucial aspect of delivering sustainable products and services is sustainable packaging.” So we also focused on our packaging and made sure we make eco-friendly choices every step of the way.
Our packaging is made of 100% recycled materials. So it’s not only recyclable, but also recycled. And to put that extra oomph on our commitment to our community, our sustainable packaging comes with a gift. A plantable paper mixed with wildflowers.
You simply soak the seed paper in water overnight. Loosen the soil or fill a planter pot 3⁄4 of the way with potting soil. Place the wet seed paper in the planter and add a light layer of soil on top to hold in moisture. Water well, especially during the first 4 to 6 weeks. Once the sprouts are well they can easily be transplanted to a more permanent outdoor location. Then plant it and watch it grow.
We wish to raise awareness around shopping habits and inspire customers to make smart choices. We hope that you join our sustainability efforts and plant that seed for the prosperous future of our children.
Happy shopping!
